Rico

Eric Granberg often comes to our studio openings to play guitar during our shows. Also known as 'Rico' and occasionally 'Moo" (it's a long story), Eric plays a beautifully crafted guitar he made himself.

Thanks Rico, for your hours of playing music for us and our studio guests...

Studio Visit

I love this picture of Inge Dunn and Carolyn Toth taken in front of one of my watery paintings. These 2 have a friendship that began as children and even though they live thousands of miles apart they stay connected and manage to visit one another when they can.

Inge and Carolyn were visiting Cincinnati in December and we hope they return soon!

Getting Ready

Waterways 19" x 25" Pastel on paper (this one IS finished)

This coming weekend is one of four out of the year when our building and our studio are open to the public. (February 6th & 7th, 6-11 pm both nights).

It's always good for us to have these deadlines, a way to wrap up whatever we're working on, have some new pieces framed, clean and organize. Yesterday I sent out my mass email letting friends and people who follow my work know that they can drop in to say hello, have a glass of wine, meet other art followers.

For the last 3 shows, I've been trying hard to finish 3 larger oil paintings that are inches away from being complete. They are favorites of mine, and several people have asked when they'd be done. I have worked on all 3 of them since the last show, yet here I am again and they are not quite resolved to my liking. Maybe I'm just not ready to let them go.

Snow Day... 4

Diane Debevec Figure Drawings

February already?

I haven't been in the studio since Sunday...a week of snow, ice and more snow has my van trapped in my inverted gravel driveway. Creativity this week has been satisfied with cooking, cleaning, sketching, organizing my art-files and applying to upcoming shows.

And now I notice February is only two days away: like the groundhog on Monday I'm going to poke my head out the front door and decide whether or not it's time to venture forth.

Thanks Polly: because of you I've found a new surge of motivation to find exhibiting opportunities this year. It will be interesting to be sure. See you at the studio!
